2020 FAIR Cancelled

At a special meeting of the Huron Community Fair Board on May 9, the board regrettably voted to cancel the upcoming fair.

 

This action came after much communication about the health and safety of all fair attendees and with our fiscal responsibility to be able to continue the long tradition of the fair moving into the future.

We acknowledge the hardships the youth and adults of this county have had over the past several months. The board is looking at the possibility of offering portions of our shows. We are looking at all formats, including virtual show options (within state guidelines). These events will be guided and approved by the board with the hope of providing safe and continued support to the youth of our county.

Planning has already begun on the 2021 fair. We are looking forward to working with the many people that have been a great support to our fair.

Attention all Junior and Small livestock association members who exhibit at the Huron Community Fair, if you are interested in attending any of the shows that may get organized to replace the normal fair shows, be it in person or virtual format, the following must be completed and postmarked by June 1, 2020.

Fill out registration and premium forms including market and showmanship classes, as you normally would, these forms can be found on the Huron Community Fair website. Forms must be completed and mail to the fair office no later than June 1.

For identification we will use the following: steers, feeders, sheep, and goats will use RFID/Scrapies tag number (make sure this is recorded on your form). For hogs, you will need to send a photo of you and your hogs along with the registration form. For poultry and rabbits use the SLA registration form.

Late forms will not be accepted.

This will allow the fair board to make a decision based on the amount of interest from participants on which type of shows can and will be held.
